  • Shauna Stinson – Concertmaster

    Shauna Stinson joined the Sunnyside Symphony Orchestra as a founding member in 2001.

    She grew up in a house filled with music, thanks to her piano-teaching mother and a father who liked playing piano duets. Shauna began taking piano at age five and violin soon after. She gave her first solo violin concert at age 12, and soon after toured with the Walla Walla University Orchestra. She also played in the Blue Mountain Symphony for a season before joining the Walla Walla Youth Orchestra. After college, she joined the Walla Walla Symphony for two seasons before moving to Portland.

    Shauna owns a commercial design company in Portland and lives in Damascus with her husband Kevin. She enjoys baking, paddleboarding and spending time with her grown children and their families.

  • Veronika Zeisset – Bassist

    Veronika Zeisset joined the Sunnyside Symphony Orchestra as a founding member in 2012.

    She was exposed to music early on with her mother playing the piano and singing in a choir. Veronika started on the recorder and then choose piano at age eight. Later at age 16 she got the opportunity to take string bass lessons and fell in love with the instrument, leading her to join the bass section of the Olympic Youth Symphony. She played in various orchestras during her remaining high school and University of Washington years, including the University of Washington Symphony. After graduation, she spent six years in Budapest, Hungary doing mission work and continued to play in two different orchestras. She came to Portland after her time in Budapest and initially joined the Vancouver Symphony. Three years later she switched to Sunnyside Symphony Orchestra and a short time after also joined the Beaverton Symphony Orchestra.

    Veronika is a home-maker with two teenage boys. One is a junior at Sunset High School and the other one has graduated and is pursuing a medical degree in Germany. She enjoys playing tennis, running and hiking - especially on the tall mountains in the Austrian Alps.

  • Noel Lee – Viola

    Noel Lee joined the Sunnyside Symphony Orchestra in September 2018.

    Noel’s love for classical music began at age 5 with piano lessons. At age 9, she convinced her parents to let her take violin lessons. She switched to viola in junior high and has never looked back. Some of the groups she played with are: the Bakersfield Youth Symphony, Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra, MIT Symphony Orchestra, La Jolla Symphony, and UC San Diego Chamber Orchestra.

    Noel is a cardiologist at The Vancouver Clinic. In her free time, she enjoys listening to classical music and dreaming about her next Disney trip.
